Podiatrists are medical doctors who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of a variety of conditions that affect the feet, ankles, and the lower part of the leg. Podiatrists sometimes concentrate on different areas such as pediatrics, reconstructive surgery, diabetic/vascular foot conditions, geriatrics and sports medicine.
Conditions treated include: corns, calluses, ingrown toenails, bunions, heel spurs, diabetic ulcers, arch problems, foot and ankle injuries, bone deformities, and infections.
